Audrey Ann Tousey “Maude”

Audrey Ann Tousey “Maude”, 80, passed away January 14, 2019 at Anchor Communities in Fox Lake, WI with family and friends by her side.

Audrey was born May 10, 1938 in Waupun, WI the daughter of Garret and Minnie Stelsel Hull. She pursued a career as an office assistant/bookkeeper and completed her schooling in New York State. She then received a position at John F. Kennedy International Airport where she worked for two years. Audrey then returned to Waupun where she married Kenneth Salzman which led them on a journey to Wabeno, MN where Ken was in the Air Force. They eventually made their way back to Waupun where Audrey worked as a bookkeeper/office manager at the shoe factory, Maly Implement, and Badger Pallet. Audrey ended her career at Subway in Waupun where she was known as the “Sandwich Queen.” Audrey new exactly what you wanted when you came in. Audrey’s 25 year marriage ended and she met David Tousey. They were married for 32 years and they had a love to travel the State of Wisconsin. Audrey enjoyed many things. She was an avid reader, reading the book of Psalms. She enjoyed singing hymns, playing cards, going to the casino, and spending time with family and friends. Audrey and Dave had a very special place, “the cabin,” that they slipped away to and gave them much peace and relaxation. Audrey had many Packer and Badger parties at the cabin but her favorite was enjoying a roaring bonfire.

Audrey is survived by her children: Tim Salzman and Suzanne (Salzman) Pluim; grandchildren: Kendra (Pluim) TerBeest, Chad Pluim, Melissa (Salzman) Ewert, and MaKayla Salzman; and great-grandchildren: Ily, Willow, Ryder, Brysen, Wyatt, and Jax.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; David Tousey; Kenneth Salzman; and great-granddaughter, Addysen TerBeest.

A memorial service for Audrey Tousey will be held in the spring at Church of the Wilderness by her cabin.

A special thank you to Anchor Communities from the Pluim and Salzman family; Tracy, God blessed you with a special talent. You dedicate your heart and soul to your residents. To the staff, thank you for loving my mom and treating her like your mother/grandmother.
