Attorneys For Ware Contesting Search Of Murder Scene

(Juneau) The details surrounding the arrest of a Fox Lake murder suspect were discussed during a hearing Wednesday. Laverne Ware Jr. appeared in court alongside his attorney’s Aneeq Ahmad and Jennifer Severino. Several members of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division were questioned by the defense concerning audio from a dashboard camera. The video captured the events surrounding law enforcements first arrival at the property at 100 We Go Trial in Fox Lake where the homicide is believed to have taken place. Conversations can be heard between deputies and the mother of the defendant Marjorie Jones who was sentenced to six years in prison for her role in the crime. Authorities asked to search the home but Jones suggested a warrant first be attained and added that she does not mind the property being searched but wants it done correctly. Ware later emerged from the home with his arms extended and the deputies then conducted a sweep which turned up the deceased body of Sesalie Dixon. Ware’s attorneys maintain that the search should have never been done since they did not receive a warrant. A motion hearing is scheduled for November 2. Ware has a two-week jury trial set to begin on March 4. The 38-year-old is accused of murdering Dixon who was his girlfriend and first cousin in December of 2016. The 27-year-old Dixon was found in the cab of Ware’s pick-up truck inside a Fox Lake garage with a gunshot wound to the head.
