Robbery In Downtown Beaver Dam

(Beaver Dam)  Beaver Dam Police Officers were dispatched to a robbery call Saturday morning at 11:55 AM at 128 Front Street, Kornely’s Craft store in Beaver Dam. The owner called 911 to report he was robbed by an individual that took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, before fleeing the store.

Officers on patrol located a subject matching the description that was given by the caller.  The subject fled on a bicycle and then on foot before finally trying to evade officers by jumping into the Beaver Dam River in the 600 Block of South Spring Street.  The subject was ultimately rescued from the river which police report was flowing quickly.

The Beaver Dam Police Department was assisted by deputies from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, and the Beaver Dam Fire and Rescue Department.  The subject, a 25-year-old male from Beaver Dam, was treated for hypothermia at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.  The subject was later transported to the Dodge County Jail for several charges including Robbery  with threat of force, Theft, and Resisting an Officer. Nobody was  injured during the incident.
