Area Growers Encouraged To Attend Produce Safety Class

(Juneau) Area producers are encouraged to attend an upcoming class on produce safety. The Dodge County UW-Extension and Safe Wisconsin Produce will host a training course for fruit and vegetable growers as well as members of the public. Topics that will be discussed include worker health, hygiene, soil amendments, wildlife, sanitation, and how to develop a farm food safety plan. Those interested in attending most pay a $60 fee which covers the costs for the training materials along with lunch and snacks. The deadline to register is February 19th. Participants will also be eligible to receive a certificate from the Association of Food and Drug Officials that they have completed the course. The class will take place February 26th at the UW-Fond du Lac campus located at 400 University Avenue from 7:30am to 5:00pm. The training will be in the University Center Rooms 113/114.
