5/6/17 – Preliminary data shows that 41 people have died in Wisconsin traffic crashes last month. That number is same from April of last year and slightly above the five-year average of 38, per the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. The safest month of April since World War II occurred in 2014 with 25 traffic deaths and the deadliest was in 1973 with 113 deaths. In Dodge County, there have been four traffic deaths as of April 30. In Green Lake County, no deaths have been reported. In Fond du Lac County there have been three traffic deaths so far. Washington and Jefferson County both have had one.
