Alliant Energy Seeks 2019-2020 Rate Freeze

(Beaver Dam) Alliant Energy customers could see no increase to their basic and natural gas rates through 2020. The company filed the proposal with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin and, if approved by the commission, would go into effect for 2019 and 2020. Alliant Energy Corporation President John Larsen says the rate Freeze is a win for customers and that his company has worked hard to hold the line on costs. The company formulated the proposal with input and collaboration from the Citizens Utility Board and Wisconsin Industrial Energy Group. Also, customer rates will drop for the remainder of 2018 due to bill credits. Alliant Energy will be refunding a total of $36-million dollars for electric customers and $4-million for natural gas customers.
