Allenton Man Appears On Tavern Sexual Assault Charge

(Lomira) An Allenton man accused of sexually assaulting a woman outside a Lomira tavern made his initial appearance in court Monday. David Sauer is charged Second Degree Sexual Assault. On October 30, a sheriff’s office deputy was dispatched to Rock the House Tavern. The victim reportedly told law enforcement she was alone in a smoking room attached to the business when Sauer approached her and assaulted her. The woman allegedly said she believed Sauer to be intoxicated during the incident. When questioned, Sauer reportedly agreed with some of the victim’s statements but added if he did anything more it must of have been (quote) “subconsciously.”  He also denied being drunk. If convicted, the 60-year-old faces 40 years in prison. Signature bond was set at $1,000 and a judge will decide in April if there is enough evidence to order a trial.
