44 Dodge County Veterans To Take Part In Honor Flight

8/31/17 – Forty-four veterans from Dodge County will participate in next month’s All-American Honor Flight. A plane with 90 total veterans will take off from Dane County Airport September 16 and visit various sites including the Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Iwo Jima, World War II, Korean, Vietnam, and Air Force monuments. Organizer Jim Bublitz told us on WBEV’s Community Comment Monday there is still a way for the public to show their support by donating to the veterans “swag bag” which features items from Dodge County. Bublitz is also encouraging the public to greet the veterans when they return from their day in Washington D.C. The flight arrives at around 9:15 but Bublitz says it takes a few minutes for everyone to get off the plan and notes that they will provide close to 500 chairs to those who need them. Individuals interested in donating can contact Bublitz at 920-210-2827 or visit Badger Honor Flight’s website at www.badgerhonorflight.org.
