(Beaver Dam) Over six thousand people attended Beaver Dam Lake Days this weekend. The three-day event celebrated its 25th year at Tahoe Park capped off by a huge fireworks show on Saturday. Fireworks Coordinator Tom Stebbins says the goal was to give a quality fireworks show that made the community proud and says he has heard a great deal of gratitude about the display. The event almost did not happen this year because of low volunteer numbers but a new group of organizers stepped forward six months ago. Lake Days Committee President Brad Ingram says the new group was touched by the amount of support received from sponsors, volunteers, the city of Beaver Dam and the community. In addition to those volunteering with the Lake Days committee, a large group of volunteers are also needed during the event. A total of nine non-profits provided 450 volunteer hours. Each of the organizations will be compensated ten dollars for each volunteer hour worked. The committee is already talking about planning the 2019 event.
